That same day, Damon and Elena looked up in the skies in the balcony to see the sun still shining above them.
Damon told Elena, “Every time I see the sun, I remember your smile, just like how it brightens my day.”
Elena simply smiled and said, “No matter what happens, even though destiny will not allow us to be together, I would still make a way for you.”
“I will hold on to your words and I will make sure to see you smile everyday,” Damon said.
Out of words, Damon hugged Elena and kissed her on the forehead.
