Today is a new day.

Many blessings to come our way.
Many reasons to enjoy.
Many reasons to be thankful.
Many reasons to smile.
Many reasons to love.

Today is a gift that’s why it’s called present.

Truth and Reality

image
A great inspiration!
This quote from the famous Mahatma Gandhi speaks of truth to its highest form.
In the first sentence, it involves the truth about you, the truth you know and speak, and the people around. You, of all people, knows who you really are deep down inside your mind and heart. No one except God can judge you, for no one else knows what runs in your mind and heart, unless you speak of it. When you choose to speak of that truth about yourself and any truth that you know, many people will always have something to say about it. Some will believe you, while others will not and even contradict what you have said. Today, the sad reality is that people will not just contradict you but judge you in your face and behind your back with other people who don’t know who you really are. Those people will get the wrong impression of the truth about you which is the worst case possible.
In the second sentence, Gandhi states that you should never apologize, that is absolutely correct. You never have to be sorry for showing and speaking what is true and correct. In fact, those people who have contradicted and judged the truth you speak of, are the ones who have to apologize for what they did. Maybe, they can escape from their wrong doings in the eyes of fellow-men but never in the eyes of God.
In the last sentence, Gandhi encourages you to be brave enough to speak what you know is right and true. Whatever your status in life, you should fight for the truth.
“The truth will set you free.”
“The truth will always prevail.”

Two Months To Go

10269459_10203744627965770_4225263999778795524_n

This photo was taken from my birthday celebration last year.

Exactly two months from now, I will be celebrating my 26th birthday. I’m excited and happy while looking forward for this celebration. I mean, not all people are given the chance to celebrate birthdays (e.g. people who passed away).

Birthdays are one of the most anticipated celebrations of a person. It can be simple or extravagant. Whatever the celebrant wants he/she can have it his/her way. Some, don’t celebrate it, but surprises come their way. Family and friends of the celebrant plan the celebration without the consent of the celebrant.

This year my birthday celebration will be simple. We are just planning to have an overnight stay at the beach, since it is summer. I’m with my family and close relatives. I’m officially a “matured” woman, not just by age but by mind and heart.

Let us also be reminded that we should be thankful for the gifts we receive on our special day, small or big, cheap or expensive, wrapped or unwrapped. The greatest gift we receive is the Gift of Life given by our Creator, the Almighty God.

“God gave us the gift of life; it is up to us to give ourselves the gift of living well.” – Voltaire

“Don’t just count your years, make your years count.” – George Meredith

“Age is just a number.”

First Sunday of the Season of Lent

Just finished attending the Holy Mass for the 1st Sunday of the Season of Lent.

The season of Lent is the time for us Christians and Catholics to repent for their sins which separates us from God. It is also the right time to change for the better good by letting go of the worldly things that we are so attached with. The time to have a change of heart, also known as “Metanoia”.

It is the time we must remember the love of God for man, the highest form of love, “Agape” in Greek Language.  God gave up his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to save us from sin.

The Gospel for the 1st Sunday of Lent is from St. Mark which tells about the forty days and forty nights that Jesus travelled in the desert while being tempted by the devil.

It means temptation is everywhere. However,  if our faith is strong,  we can overcome it. We must believe that we can defeat whatever evil we encounter.

Keep the faith. Do good and God will do the rest.
